Non-uniformity in a thin film coating
Conventional brightfield image
This image shows a thin film coating which contains small non-uniformities.
Because the coating is transparent, however, these non-uniformities are almost impossible to see.
QPI phase image
The QPI phase algorithm is sufficiently sensitive to measure the tiny
changes in the film thickness, which can be seen here clearly.
